Meet Dr. Amy Different
Thank you to everyone who has shown support for Southern Life Chiropractic!
I would like to introduce myself and tell you why I do what I do. My name is Dr. Amy Different. I am a chiropractor and, most importantly, a mom. My son was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2016. During this time, I quit working full time to stay home with my kids and would eventually do Animal Chiropractic part time (which I still do and will continue to offer this service).
I quickly realized the limited resources in MS available to families with kids, teens, and adults with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADD, ADHD, and other types of neurodevelopment/neurosensory disorders. This made me upset/angry when I experienced and saw other families struggle with these diagnoses and no where to turn to for help. My passion for these families grew, and I knew chiropractic could be a great resource/help.
So, after months of studying and picking the brains of other Chiropractors who work with these individuals in other states, I learned many different ways to help. Along with very specific chiropractic adjustments, our "sensory room" will be set up to provide specific exercises that are part of an individualized care plan. My goal of SLC is to be a sensory friendly, safe place of support and encouragement to all families in Mississippi. There are alternative answers out there that can help outside of medications.
